LAUNCH 2023 – Intensive Workshop Week with Shaun Parker & Company

Shaun Parker & Company would like to extend an opportunity to contemporary dance performers to apply to participate in our upcoming LAUNCH – Intensive Workshop Week.

Shaun Parker & Company have created a holistic 5-day program that provides participants with a rare opportunity to experience an insight into working with Shaun Parker & Company. Throughout the 5-day period, our participants will learn a variety of repertoire and classes (Contemporary dance, Hip hop styles, Yoga and Tutting) with our company dancers. Shaun Parker will lead sessions for tasking, dance making and dramaturgy, giving participants a valuable insight into his artistic process. It is also an incredible experience in what it is like to be ’working day to day’ in a full-time dance Company. Past attendees have been very appreciative of what they learnt in just one week:

The program is a perfect for:

• Established professional dancers
• Recent graduates
• Current undergraduates

 

LAUNCH will be held in Sydney from 9:30am-6pm each day from Monday December 11^th to Friday December 15^th. The classes and training will take place at IO Myers Studio, High St, UNSW, Kensington NSW 2052

 

To make this LAUNCH – Intensive Workshop Week possible, we will need to charge $350 per participant. We understand the financial challenges of emerging dance professionals and have tried our best to make this valuable opportunity as affordable as possible, and the program is heavily subsidised by Shaun Parker & Company. (Selected interstate and international participants will need to fund their own transport and accommodation for this opportunity). LAUNCH is of huge value, and Shaun Parker quite often casts dancers for future shows and tours from such ‘in-studio’ workshops, as he gets to work with ‘on-the-floor’ with the dancers.
