2026 First Nations Paid Dancer Internship Program

2026 FIRST NATIONS PAID DANCER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

 

Shaun Parker & Company are inviting emerging First Nations professional dancers based in the Canterbury-Bankstown LGA (Darug) to apply for our First Nations Paid Dancer Internship Program whilst we are in residence at the Bankstown Arts Centre from 22-26 June 2026.

The First Nations Paid Dancer Intern will experience working in a professional contemporary dance company environment, undertake daily company classes, workshops and receive one-on-one feedback and guidance by internationally renowned Choreographer and Artistic Director, Shaun Parker.

This opportunity is proudly supported by the Canterbury-Bankstown Council and First Nations dancers based in the Canterbury-Bankstown LGA (Darug) are encouraged to apply. The First Nations Paid Dancer Intern will be selected in consultation with Shaun Parker & Company’s First Nations Cultural Advisor to ensure cultural safety.

PAYMENT: The First Nations Dance Intern shall be paid as per LPA guidelines for Company Dancer Trainee/Intern level @ $1,052.50 per week, plus 12% superannuation, and Annual Leave provision.
